County council is "reviewing the situation" after outcry over school places for Dengie children

MP John Whittingdale is meeting with county officials over the issue

Essex County Council has said that it is "reviewing the situation" with regard to the allocation of secondary school places to children living in the Dengie after some were offered places at schools as far away as Brightlingsea and Rochford.

Maldon MP John Whittingdale is meeting with the county tomorrow (Wednesday, 3 March) after describing the situation for some families as "totally unrealistic".

Setting off to row 2,700 nautical miles across the Pacific in a four-woman boat, raising funds and awareness of a project to help save the seas from plastic and hoping to break a world record at the same time might seem like enough of a challenge for anyone.

However, for Burnham-on-Crouch's own 'Ocean Sheroes' - a team of four women, two in their forties and two in their twenties – this challenge is about more than just the enormous task they've set themselves.
