Road closed following motorcycle collision in Burnham-On-Crouch

Police have closed Church Road/B1021 in Burnham-On-Crouch, following a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist, this afternoon (August 8).
The collision reportedly took place near the railway bridge shortly after 3.30pm. Police have closed the road from the junction at Maldon Road.
Two ambulances and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to the scene. A man was taken to the Royal London Hospital via road ambulance. He is confirmed to be in a serious condition.
A spokesperson for Essex Police told Nub News: "We expect the road to be closed for the coming hours whilst investigative work is carried out.
"We need anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
"You can let us know by submitting a report on our website or by using our online Live Chat service available Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) between 10am and 9pm.
"Alternatively, you can call us on 101. Please cite incident 686 of 8 August."
Traffic was backed up to the Limes Farm Shop in Southminster Road, Burnham-On-Crouch at 5pm. Bus routes are said to be terminating in Southminster.
