A private provider of home care services, based in South Woodham Ferrers (SWF), is celebrating the fundraising efforts of its team after collecting money for a national dementia charity.

Home Instead SWF held a dementia awareness day last Wednesday (27 October) at the bandstand in the town in order to raise vital funds, talk to people in the community and hand out leaflets.

The branch is owned by Dorothy Nwankwo, who works alongside Susan Garrett, the care manager, to deliver services including home help, companionship, personal care and dementia care to residents across Essex.

Staff raised £101.37 through their collections on the day, which was doubled by the office to result in a grand total of £202.74 for Dementia UK.

A spokesperson for Home Instead SWF: "Thank you to all those who donated - we are immensely grateful.

"On behalf of Susan and our team of wonderful caregivers, we all say a big thank you."

The money raised will help Dementia UK provide specialist dementia support for families through its Admiral Nurse service.

Home Instead SWF is also looking to expand its services across the Dengie, and is seeking passionate caregivers from the area to provide its residents with top-quality care.
