A private provider of home care services, which has recently opened a branch in South Woodham Ferrers (SWF), is looking for caregivers across the Dengie to join its team.

Home Instead SWF officially opened in August, and delivers services including home help, companionship, personal care and dementia care to residents across Essex - with the aim of helping them live happily and independently in their own homes.

The branch aims to better serve residents by employing local caregivers who do not need to travel far to their clients' homes - it wants to improve access to care for residents living in rural communities across the Dengie who have previously found it difficult to find help due to their remote location.

To do this, it needs Dengie residents who are passionate about caregiving to join the team.

Dorothy Nwankwo, who owns and operates the branch, said: "We really need a lot of people - we're looking for as many as 50 caregivers.

"The only experience we're looking for is that the person has a large heart and is passionate about care - that they have care inside of them and they want to share it with people who need it."

Susan Garrett, care manager of the branch, added: "You've got to care from within - the rest you can be trained in."

Dorothy and Susan are committed to finding the best possible caregivers for their clients, and only supply a maximum of three carers to each client to keep them surrounded with trusted and familiar faces.

Dorothy said: "Home Instead is very different to other traditional care companies - we are very particular about our caregivers, which makes a huge difference."

Home Instead UK was established in 2005, and has over 200 locally owned and operated offices delivering care across the UK.

While its SWF branch opened on 4 January this year, Dorothy and Susan had to wait until they were granted registration by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to officially open - on Friday 13 August.

They currently have five caregivers on the team.

Dorothy said: "I'm so thankful that every one of our caregivers is so excited about what they do with us.

"They're a family and it's not easy to come up with that.

"We've seen people transfer from jobs working elsewhere because they've found that this atmosphere is just right for them.

"We're not set up just to cater for our clients, we're set up for our caregivers, too.

"We care for our caregivers - they just have to be the right candidate."

By growing their team, Dorothy and Susan will be able to help more residents across the Dengie.

"We could take on a lot more clients if we have the staff," Susan said.

Caregivers will be required to provide personal and professional references, complete an enhanced DBS check and will be provided with intensive training.

A clean driving license and access to your own reliable vehicle is essential to enable you to visit clients.

Flexible hours are available.

Home Instead SWF is located in Tabrums Farm on Tabrums Lane in South Woodham Ferrers.
