Burnham Ramblers 2, May and Baker Eastbrook 1
Ramblers maintained their place at the head of the Eastern Counties League Division One South with a win against second-placed May and Baker at Leslie Field.
The hosts got off to the best possible start when Adebolu Adeyemi set up Karl Swanborough at the back post and he slotted the chance home with his left foot.
And the same pair combined to put Ramblers two up on 14 minutes when Adeyemi got the better of his brother Kunle, who plays for May & Bake,r and Swanborough finished with his head after getting on the end of a hanging cross.
Ramblers came close to a third when captain Ben Wood's shot was blocked but they went in 2-0 ahead at half time.
May and Baker were better after the break and got a goal back through a fine strike from Abidemi Lamina six minutes after the resumption.
Chances then came and went at both ends with the visitors going closest on 68 minutes when Gabriel Odiu had a great chance after Ramblers keeper Ben Loftus had left his goal but the substitute took a bad touch allowing Loftus time to recover and make a cledaring save.
And there was more drama on 81 minutes when Baker & May thought they had scored but the effort was ruled out for an offside.
There were a couple more scrambles at either end in the closing stages but Ramblers held on.
