The Jammers Fans Association held a collection for the local foodbank ahead of Maldon & Tiptree FC's Bank Holiday match against Grays Athletic yesterday (August 28).

Donations were collected on behalf of Maldon Food Pantry, organised by the Reverend Robert Sefton. It is based at the Elim Maldon Pentecostal Church in Wantz Road.

Tony Williams, Chair of the Jammers Fans Association (JFA), told Nub News it was important to help local families during the ongoing Cost of Living Crisis.

"The crisis is hitting more and more people, so we think this is a valuable thing to do," he said.

The JFA has held three previous foodbank collections, along with annual Easter egg collections for Home-Start Essex. Last April, fans donated 250 Easter eggs, which were shared between Home-Start and Maldon Food Pantry.

Monday's match saw the Jammers draw against Grays Athletic, with both sides scoring a goal each.
