Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses and dash cam footage after a teenager who was seriously injured in a crash in Bicknacre last week died in hospital.

The accident happened before 5pm on Wednesday, 7 April and involved two cars - a Silver Fiesta travelling towards South Woodham Ferrers and a Corsa being driven in the opposite direction.

The air ambulance, road ambulance and fire brigade all attended and the teenage driver of the silver Fiesta was taken to a London hospital with life-threatening injuries. Essex Police announced this morning (Wednesday, 14 April) that the teenager has sadly since died.

The driver of the Corsa – a man in his 80s – was taken to hospital for assessment.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "Our enquiries into the collision are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or has CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage to come forward."

Anyone who was in the vicinity and may have either witnessed the collision or captured dash cam footage of the incident or the vehicles just prior to the collision is asked to call Essex Police on 101 quoting incident 797 of 7 April.
