Liam Bailey has been appointed as the new Head Coach of Maldon and Tiptree FC, following years of dedicated service as Assistant Manager.
Bosses say the stalwart's deep understanding of the club makes him the perfect fit for the role.
Earlier this month, the Jammers announced the departure of one-time England manager Peter Taylor in the wake of their FA Cup draw with lowly West Essex. Taylor had only been appointed nine months prior, following the sacking of Adam Flint.
Speaking about his new role, Bailey said: "I am genuinely thrilled to have been given the opportunity to manage this football club and make an impact within the team.
"As I look ahead to the season, I am excited to roll up my sleeves and put in the hard work required to guide the team towards success."
Last Monday (August 28), the Jammers secured a last-minute draw against Grays Athletic, while Bailey watched on as Interim Manager.
"The squad is in a good place to achieve good things and I am truly eager to take us forward," he added.
"I can't wait to see what we can all achieve - players, staff, and fans all together as one."
Having played non-league football, Bailey has been an integral part of the club's coaching setup for several years. During that time, he has gained a wealth of knowledge, experience, and contacts at the club's level of football.
A spokesperson for Maldon & Tiptree FC said: "His passion, dedication, and commitment to bring success to this club are evident in every aspect of his work.
"As we continue the season, we are excited about the fresh energy, ideas, and style of play that Liam will bring to the team. His promotion to the position of Head Coach is a testament to his hard work and dedication, and we have every confidence that he will lead the team to new heights."
The Jammers will head to Biggleswade this Sunday (September 3) for an FA Cup match.
