A Maldon collectibles shop and board game venue has launched a 'Christmas payment plan', to help families spread the cost of Christmas.

Funky Shack Ltd, the brainchild of two local mums, will offer a payment plan in which customers can reserve items before paying them off weekly or monthly. The games shop offers collectibles, along with sci-fi, fantasy and gaming memorabilia.

Opening as a "a venue for all 'geeks' and 'nerds' to meet like-minded people '', the shop has seen success since opening last year. Filling Izumi Buffet's vacated space, Funky Shack is the only shopping outlet in Madison Heights, standing alongside Monkey Puzzle and Sk8ters Roller rink.

The Christmas payment and storage plan is new for this year, and aims to help families budget for Christmas. The store offers to hold reserved items on site, requesting a 30 per cent initial deposit, before asking customers to pay off a payment plan ending on December 22.

Customers must add items to their reserve box and pay off their balance in-store.

With October just round the corner, it seems Maldon business have already begun their Christmas preparations, with work underway to make Maldon Christmas Fayre 'bigger and better' than ever.
