A man has been arrested in connection with a series of attacks at an Indian restaurant in Burnham-on-Crouch.

Six incidents between 22 and 28 November have been reported to Essex Police relating to a series of incidents in which Curry Cottage, on the High Street, and its staff were targeted.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "These include a vehicle being in collision with the shop window, racial abuse being shouted down the phone at staff and prank calls with hoax food orders."

Police officers confirmed they were investigating the incidents last Tuesday (30 November).

A 23-year-old man from Writtle attended a police station on Monday (6 December) and has now been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications and criminal damage.

He has been released on bail until 24 December.
