Christmas kicks off in Burnham-on-Crouch tomorrow (Saturday, 27 November), with eagerly-anticipated festivities on the Quay in the town.

The Christmas on the Quay day kicks off at 12pm with a hog and turkey roast, followed by a range of activities - including the Christmas lights switch on - to keep the whole family entertained.

The community event is being organised by staff at Bistro on the Quay, who will be donating all profits from the day to charity.

Santa will arrive at 2pm, the first singer is set to perform at 4pm and reindeer will be at the event from 5pm.

The choir of Burnham-on-Crouch Primary School will perform at 6pm, while the Christmas lights switch on will take place at 7pm.

The festivities, including mulled wine and mince pies, will continue until 10pm.

The Giving Tree for children and staff on the Phoenix Ward at Broomfield Hospital will also be unveiled on the day.

Children who are staying at the Phoenix Ward have written small requests for gifts they would like on tags, which have been added to the Christmas tree at the Bistro, thanks to the efforts of staff and Carlie Boler from Epic Dance.

Residents can drop off gifts at the restaurant for the children, which staff will wrap, label and deliver to the ward on Christmas Eve.

Staff can also arrange collections locally - find out more here.
