A busy road in Maldon is set to close for five nights next week to allow roadworks to take place for a new housing development in the town.

A section of Wycke Hill near Limebrook Farm will be closed between 8pm and 5am from Monday (13 December) to Friday (17 December) next week.

This is to allow for road improvement works, which are being carried out by Crest Nicholson outside its new development in the town.

A diversion route will be in place for drivers and access to properties will be maintained for residents at all times.

Chris Wheelwright, infrastructure manager at Anderson Construction, said in a letter to residents: "Following these closures, the overall works in the public highway are due to be completed by 23 December.

"We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your cooperation."

Anyone who has queries can call Chris on 07969 181395.
