EYEWITNESS reports indicate two women in a car that left the road and ended up on its side in Maldon High Street this afternoon (Saturday, 24 April) have suffered no serious injuries.

Firefighters were on the scene within minutes of the accident, which happened at around 5.30pm at the lower end of the High Street. They worked swiftly to get the driver out of the car as it lay on the pavement at the front of the Bathtub showroom and the flats next door.

The road was cleared completely and the car removed from the scene before 8pm.

Essex Fire and Rescue Service and Essex Police media teams have been approached for comment.
