Saturday 20 May

Friends of Thomas Plume's Library AGM and talk by Julie Miller at All Saints Church, Maldon - from 7.30pm

The Friends of Thomas Plume's Library invite you to a talk by Julie Miller, MA, entitled 'A Man of Indiscrete Zeal, and the Quaker Comet'.

Julie is PhD Candidate at University of Essex and Associate Fellow of the Royal Historical Society

There will be a short AGM beforehand. A glass of wine/soft drink and light refreshments will be available in the interval. Entry is free.

Charity Dance at the Swan Hotel, Maldon High Street - from 8pm

Join us for a charity dance held in The Cygnet Room at the Swan Hotel, Maldon High Street.

All proceeds will go to the charity Action for Family Carers.

The evening will feature Reloaded, a local band, and will see the debut performance for BlackwaterBlue.

'An Evening with Helen and Jane' at Althorne Church Hall - from 7pm

Helen Watson and Jane English have a wealth of musical experience between them and present an entertaining offering of stories from their lives in the music business and songs that they love to perform.

Between them, they have a formidable library of musical experiences and they want to share the highs and lows - and the funny bits - with you. There may even be a tiny bit of audience participation along the way.

Fun-4-Kids activity day at the Museum of Power, Langford - from 10am

Enjoy a variety of free activities at Fun-4-Kids on Sunday 21 May, at the Museum of Power.

From 10am until 4pm, children can enjoy:

  • Themed Fancy Dress, Music, Dance, Storytelling,
  • Train Rides (one free ride per child - adults cost £1 per ride)
  • Model Village
  • Super Heroes, Fantasy, Creatures of The Sea
  • Games and Rides

Kids go FREE. Adults £8, Concessions £7

Alternative Market at Burnham Village Hall - from 9.30am

Since being taken over by new management, the Burnham on Crouch Farmers' and Artisan Market has relaunched as the 'Burnham Alternative Market'.

It is still held on the third Sunday of each month, with a slightly different time of 9.30am to 1pm. It is held at the Village Hall, on Devonshire Road, Burnham-on-Crouch CM0 8EF.

Entry is free and there is parking behind the hall or on the street.
