Serious collision on Maldon Road between bin lorry and motorcyclist

Police remain on the scene following a serious collision in Latchingdon this morning (Tuesday, 14 September).

Officers were called at 7.20am this morning to the scene of the collision between a motorcyclist and a bin lorry along Maldon Road.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The road remains closed and drivers are asked to please avoid the area and seek an alternate route.

The road is not expected to reopen until later this afternoon.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "We'd like to thank members of the public for their patience as we remain on the scene of a serious collision in Latchingdon.

"We are appealing for information from anyone who was driving in the area at the time and who may have dashcam footage of the collision."
