Businesses can now apply for 'restart' grants through Maldon District Council to help get them up and running again as we emerge from the lockdown.

The Government is providing 'Restart Grants' of up to £6,000 per premises for non-essential retail businesses and up to £18,000 per premises for hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses.

The plan is that the cash will provide local businesses with the certainty they need to help them plan ahead and safely relaunch trading over the coming months.

The Government is also providing all local authorities in England with an additional £425 million of discretionary business grant funding in total, on top of the £1.6 billion already allocated. Altogether, this support will cost £5 billion across the country.

A spokesperson for Maldon District Council said: "The council has reviewed guidance from Government and we are now inviting businesses to apply."

Businesses can apply using the link here.
