Preparations are already underway for this year's Maldon Christmas Fayre, set to take over the High Street on November 30 with one hundred local stalls.
Town Councillor Michael Pearlman is organising it for the eighth year running.
He told Nub News: "I try to make every year bigger and better than the last."
Last year's event saw the worst torrential weather conditions in its history. However, that did not dampen any spirits and the Fayre saw thousands of people turn out to enjoy some festive cheer.
Once again, Brights & Sons Solicitors, in West Square, will host Santa's Grotto. A free booking system will help minimise queuing, so families can spend more time enjoying the event.
The main stage will be based outside All Saints' Church. Two acts are already booked to perform, including singer and tribute act Adrian Warwick, who led over 7,000 people in a 'Sweet Caroline singalong' last Christmas. He and local musician Joanna Power will kick off the celebrations by singing a medley of festive songs and carols. A children's choir is also billed to perform.
The town's Christmas lights will be switched on by Maldon Mayor Andrew Lay on the main stage at 5pm.
On the balcony at The Swan Hotel, DJ Badger will be performing with various acts for punters to enjoy. There will also be a second DJ based opposite Maldon Spice throughout the evening.
Cllr Pearlman is collaborating with James Sinclair, the new owner of The Blue Boar, to create a Dickens-style Christmas scene in the hotel's cobbled courtyard. It will be decorated with lights and snow machines, and is set to host a range of entertainment.
Characters from the Disney film Frozen, cartoon character Peppa Pig, a "dinosaur", and the infamous Maldon Grinch are all set to make an appearance.
85 businesses have already applied to take part in this year's event, nearing Cllr Pearlman's target of one hundred stalls.
"A lot of the stallholders who came last year have asked to come back, not only because of the revenue but they just liked the spirit of the whole thing," Cllr Pearlman said.
"Maldon people are very friendly.
"I'd also like to say a big 'thank you' to last year's sponsors. I will be approaching the town businesses in September for donations for this year's event."
The money will go towards putting the event together.
A street market will span the High Street from West Square to the High Street East Car Park. Parking will be free at all car parks from 4pm onwards.
"Maldon was a market town, so it's nice to bring something back," Cllr Pearlman added.
The Maldon Christmas Fayre will take place from 4pm until 9pm on Thursday 30 November. More details will be published soon.
