Maldon district's policing team have been out and about in the villages and rural areas in and close to the Dengie today (Friday, 5 March) on the lookout for fly-tippers.

The team have been patrolled Cold Norton, Stow Maries, South Woodham Ferrers, Bicknacre and Battlesbridge as part of a drive to reduce the problem after residents recently reported fly-tipping in the area.

A police spokesperson said: "If you see any vehicle unloading any waste in rural locations, then please contact us if you are witnessing the fly tipping as it is happening."

If the fly tipping is historic (the waste has been left and the culprit gone) you can report it with the relevant local authority - with Maldon District Council using the link here or to Chelmsford City Council at the link
