Notices of the local elections on Thursday, 6 May have now been posted on the Maldon District Council website - and nomination papers must be received no later than 4pm on Thursday, 8 April.

The elections will be for the following:

- two seats on Burnham-on-Crouch Town Council (North Ward)

- one seat on Heybridge Parish Council (East Ward)

- six seats on Heybridge Basin Parish Council

-district councillors for Tollesbury and Heybridge East Wards due to by-elections

-county councillors, who represent their local area and residents, and contribute to the development of policies in areas such as transport, social care or housing

-the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) who is responsible for policing and the Fire and Rescue Service.

Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Princes Road, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5DL on any day(excluding weekends and public holidays) between the hours of 9am to 4pm - and no later than 4pm on 8 April.
