Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries as crash closes Burnham Road

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash in South Woodham Ferrers which has closed Burnham Road.

Essex Police was called shortly after 12.20pm today (Sunday, 10 October) to reports of a collision between a motorbike and a car in South Woodham Ferrers.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries described as "life-threatening".

Burnham Road is currently closed and is expected to remain shut for at least another 30 minutes while officers, who remain on the scene, complete forensic examination work and clear the road.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "We are at the scene of a serious collision involving a motorbike and a car in South Woodham Ferrers."

They added: "We continue to investigate the circumstances behind the collision and ask any witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers at the scene, or have any dash cam footage, to contact us."
