NEW recruits at the Essex Police Marine Unit rescued a man from the water at Burnham Yacht Harbour this afternoon (Tuesday, 11 May).
The officers training with the unit based in Station Road, Burnham-on-Crouch, have been put through their paces in the past few days, with updates and videos posted on social media to show how they've been getting on.
However, in a Twitter post this afternoon, a spokesperson for the unit said: "Our new recruits got a taste for rescue work this afternoon while practicing some slow manoeuvres in Burnham Yacht Harbour.
"They quickly rescued a gentleman who fell from the jetty and into the water and became tangled in the lines. Great work!!"
