Marine Police come to the rescue after spotting tilting boat - on the road

Essex Marine Police were worried when they spotted this rather wonky-looking load as they headed out to their patrols around Maldon district yesterday (Wednesday, 17 March).

Officers from the force's Marine Unit, based at Burnham-on-Crouch, shared the picture on Twitter after stopping the driver and arranging safer transport.

In their tweet, the officers said: "Heading out for our patrols around Maldon and Bradwell today when we came across this.

"After helping him to a safer location to await a crane, the gentleman spots our vehicle and says, "Oh you're wet ones".

"Hoping he meant Marine Police..."
