Maldon Splash Park to re-open tomorrow morning
The Splash Park at Maldon's Promenade Park re-opens to the public at 11am tomorrow (Thursday, 1 July).
The announcement has been made on Maldon District Council's website this evening.
The news comes after weeks of work and testing by council and parks staff to make sure all is in order following the facility's long closure due to Covid-19.
The beach huts will also be re-opened.
The work has included the replacement of damaged surfaces and fixings, re-painting and re-branding of the Valley Play Area which includes the Splash Park and Beach Huts, as well
as a brand-new online presence to help visitors find out useful information and book tickets in advance. Further changes to the Splash Park and Beach Huts include: -An online booking system, allowing visitors to book and pay for their tickets inadvance.-Improved queuing and waiting systems to help maintain social distancing.
-Increased cleaning schedules to help keep the facilities clean and visitors safe.-Extra hand sanitisation stations for visitors.
-One-way system for the Splash Park. Councillor Wendy Stamp, Leader of Maldon District Council, said: "I am pleased to announce the reopening of Maldon's much loved Splash Park and Beach Huts this summer. This would not have been possible without the hard work of our officers, and I hope that everyone will enjoy their visit following the changes we have made to ensure the safety of the public. "The Splash Park and Beach Huts add to the excellent selection of leisure opportunities already available in Promenade Park, and I would encourage anyone planning to visit the Maldon District to add a day out at the Splash Park and Beach Huts to the to do list."
