More details for the Burnham Festive Fayre have been revealed by organisers, and they include a special visit from one infamous Dr Seuss villain.

The Maldon Grinch - who first appeared in the district to the delight of residents last year - will be attending the fayre, which is being held on Saturday, 4 December.

The Grinch raised over £4,200 for the Teenage Cancer Trust through his appearances during last year's festive season - smashing his original target of £500 - and is raising money for the trust again this year.

Organisers are also hoping the Essex Cosplayers, Blackwater Pirates and Frozen's Olaf will visit residents at the fayre, which will be held on Burnham-on-Crouch High Street.

The fayre will open to residents from 3pm and will finish by 7pm - there will be a Santa's grotto from 3.15pm until 4.30pm and 5pm until 6.30pm.

The timetable for other entertainment during the day is as follows:

  1. 10pm: Singer, guitarist and DJ Serena Grant
  2. 50pm: Presentation of cheques
  3. 20pm: E and E Dance
  4. 50pm: Every Voice Choir
  5. 30pm: Epic Dance
  6. 10pm: Musician Loula Panayi
The High Street will close from around 9am until 9pm between Chapel Road and Riverside Road on the day to allow for the fayre. You can donate to the Maldon Grinch's 2021 fundraiser for the Teenage Cancer Trust here.
