Police on patrol in Maldon arrested a driver and found suspected Class A drugs, following a traffic stop last night (April 26).

The driver aroused suspicion when they passed a police car and then 'hesitated' at a roundabout. A police check revealed the vehicle to be a "vehicle of interest", so it was stopped.

Police found what they suspected to be Class A drugs and fake documents in a search of the vehicle.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "The individual has been arrested - and we are already performing enquiries in order to present our evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service, to secure charges."

Essex Police in the Maldon District has urged anyone with information concerning drug supply in the region to get in touch via the Essex Police website.
