AN appeal has been launched to find more volunteers for Maldon's vaccination hub as the school summer holidays begin.

The busy and highly successful hub at Maldon District Council's offices in Princes Road has helped see the district achieve one of the highest Covid vaccination rates in Essex - and now needs more people to help keep it running so smoothly.

Director of Maldon and District Community Voluntary Service (MDCVS) - which has been a major force in helping to supply volunteers for the hub - said: "Since December our team of volunteers have done nearly 10,000 volunteering hours supporting the vaccine centre in the Maldon District Council offices.

"They have done a fantastic job. As the vaccine becomes available to more and more of the public the clinics remain busy and volunteer cover is sometimes needed six or seven days a week.

"It is a huge ask and of course we are now in school holidays and the summer and people have less availability. To cover this we now need to appeal for more people to come forward and help."

Details of the role and how to apply can be found at the link here.
