Maldon district has recorded no Covid-19 cases at all in the latest available seven-day data - and is the only place in England to have done so.

The whole area - from Maldon to Burnham-on-Crouch - covered by the Maldon district shows zero confirmed cases for the week leading up to Friday, 23 April.

Maldon Nub News previously reported that Maldon district had the lowest Covid-19 infection rate of all 12 local authority areas in the county, at 7.7 cases per 100,000 leading up to Thursday, 15 April - and now this latest data reveals that currently the district has achieved the ultimate aim.

More than 70 per cent of people living in Maldon district and aged 16-plus have now had at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, figures show.

Yesterday (Wednesday, 28 April) a Government 'street team' came to All Saints Church in High Street, Maldon, to hand out information on the importance of following Covid safety guidelines as the nation continues to follow the 'roadmap' out of lockdown, including maintaining social distancing, hand hygiene, using face coverings as specified and making use of free Covid home test kits twice a week.
