IN PICTURES: 'Dolphin' spotted from Maldon's Promenade Park

Visitors to Promenade Park got a sea-life surprise this afternoon (October 26), when a dolphin was reportedly spotted off Herrings Point.
Photos captured what was believed to be a dolphin, although some say it was a porpoise, in the River Chelmer.

A spokesperson for Maldon District Council said: "If you are visiting Maldon Promenade Park today, look out for a surprise visitor!"

Those wishing to spot the sea creature should stand with their backs to the statue of Byrhtnoth and look to the left:
