MUSEUMS and historic sites across Maldon district will be opening to visitors for free as part of the Heritage Weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10, 11 and 12 September.

Visitors can pop along to just one venue or take advantage of a diverse selection of Maldon's heritage attractions, with something to suit most tastes - though some sites are taking part over three days and some on one of the dates, so it's important to check on the Heritage Open Days website for details and opening times.

Nub News will bring you more about each of the different venues and what they will be offering visitors during this year's heritage weekend over the coming days, so readers can decide which ones are of most interest to them - or maybe even plan to visit them all!

The annual event, which is part of a national initiative to celebrate our heritage, will be themed 'Edible England' for 2021.
