A charity dog show in the Dengie has raised over £800 for charities which support people in Essex.

Essex Pawsome Dog Show held its second event on Saturday, 4 September in Steeple in aid of Chelmsford-based Farleigh Hospice and Dementia UK.

Annie Baines, who helped to organise the event at the Star Inn in Steeple, said she was "feeling the love" after the show was attended by lots of enthusiastic locals.

She said: "Thank you to all who came, took part and gave their time for the show."

Attendees enjoyed being able to see the dogs in person, after the show had to be held virtually last year due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The online event raised £500 for Dementia UK.

There were also craft stalls from local traders and face painting for visitors.

The £800 raised will be split equally between the two charities.

The dog show plans to return in September next year.
