A new Christmas fair is set to bring festive cheer to the Dengie next month, while raising vital funds for the community.

Residents from Bradwell-on-Sea are planning the exciting event, which will be held at the village hall on Saturday 27 November and has a Dickensian theme.

Alongside the chance to see Victorian characters, there will be plenty of stalls, crafts, pottery, mulled wine and mince pies to get residents into the festive spirit, and even carol singing to enjoy.

A raffle during the Christmas fair will also give one lucky resident the chance to win a boozy barrow, full of drinks - tickets cost £2 each.

There will even be extra stalls in the marquee and games room of the Kings Head pub next door to the village hall.

There will also be a quiz and curry night after the fair in the Kings Head, at 7.30pm.

Proceeds raised will help to support the community into the New Year, as the money will be split between St Cedd's School, St Thomas Church, the Village Hall Trust and the Bradwell-on-Sea Women's Institute.

The fair will begin at 2pm and finish at 5pm.

The fair can be enjoyed by residents with a voluntary donation of just £1 or £2.

You can find the Bradwell-on-Sea Village Hall at 5 South Street in the village.
