The NHS in mid-Essex has confirmed that 96.1 per cent of people aged over 65 in the area have had their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine - and that they're on track to have offered the jab to all residents aged 50-plus by mid-April.
In an update on the latest position this morning (Friday, 12 March) a spokesperson for Mid Essex CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) said: "Our teams in the Mid Essex CCG area are working very hard on the vaccination programme and moving on at pace with more than 96.1 per cent of the over-65s receiving their vaccine so far.
"All people aged over 56 who have not had their first dose, should come forward and book their appointment online or by calling 119."
"The ambition is that everyone 50 and above and those with underlying health conditions will get their first of two vaccine shots by April 15 and we are on target to achieve that."
Local residents who need help to book an appointment can ring 0344 2573 961 (open 10am to 4pm, local rate).
