With Christmas just 24 sleeps away, organisations throughout the Maldon district are hosting events to get everyone in the festive spirit - find full details of this week's festivities here.

Burnham Christmas Tree Festival at Burnham United Reformed Church: Friday 2, Saturday 3 & Sunday 4 December

Entrants are encouraged to be as artistic and inventive as they like.

The popular annual Christmas Tree Festival is set feature music, mulled wine, and fun for the whole family.

Organisers are looking for local people, businesses, and groups to enter their tree into the competition.

1st Maldon Scout Group's Christmas Fayre at The Scout Hut, Poulton Place, Maldon: Saturday 3 December, from 1pm

As well as the usual festive cheer, there will be Christmas games to play as well as the chance to take part in a raffle.

This is the ideal opportunity to purchase your Christmas gifts, both homemade and from local artists and suppliers, while helping to boost Scout funds.

Burnham Festive Fayre, Burnham On Crouch: Saturday 3 December, from 3pm

The Festive Fayre offers plenty to do for all the family, including fairground-style rides and bouncy castles, Christmas market stalls, food and drinks stalls, a brass band, school choirs, face-painting and a raffle.

  • The Burnham Carnival Committee presents cheques to local charities and good causes from money raised by the Carnival.
  • There will be a collection for local charities and good causes.

Christmas at Creeksea Place Manor House: Saturday 3 December, from 11am

Enjoy mulled wine and a mince pie, with a Christmas tour full of history and stories.

  • Tickets cost £15 per person.

  • Alternatively feel free to pop in and enjoy the 'beautiful' grounds, fires in the grate and visit the market stalls to put you in the Christmas mood.

Annual Festive Beer Tasting Day at Mighty Oak Brewing Company, Maldon: Saturday 3 December, from 11am

Join the team at Mighty Oak Brewing Company in West Station Yard, Spital Road, Maldon, as they celebrate with free entry and free tasters.

There will also be a paying bar, a BBQ and the opportunity to meet the brewery team.

Tolleshunt Knights Christmas Craft Fayre, Tolleshunt Knights Village Hall: Sunday 4 December, from 10am

Back by popular demand - the annual Christmas arts and crafts fayre!

Tables/stalls cost £12 each. Entry is free.

Museum of Power's Christmas Fayre, Langford: Sunday 4 December, from 10am
