Burnham-on-Crouch twins in charity chop to raise money for Little Princess Trust

By Charlotte Lillywhite 16th Sep 2021

Ten-year-old twins from Burnham-on-Crouch had their long hair chopped off last week, in aid of a charity which supports young people with cancer.

Erin and Adele Rawlinson - known as the Twinnies to their family - decided a few years ago that they wanted to grow their hair and, when it was long enough, donate it to the Little Princess Trust.

The charity provides real hair wigs, at no cost, to children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer.

The brave girls finally had the chop last week, with the help of Sandra Massenhove from Partners in Hair in Burnham-on-Crouch, after Covid delayed their plans twice.

Mum Claire said: "The last 18 months have been pretty rubbish for so many people.

"This made the Twinnies even more determined to spread a little sunshine and help someone else who is less fortunate than they are."

She added: "Both girls were rather nervous at the thought of having short hair as it had been long for so long, but they were both very brave and it was smiles all round afterwards."

In addition to donating their hair, the girls want to raise money to pay for the cost of a wig, which is around £500 each.

So far, via their JustGiving page, they have raised almost £600, and donations are continuing to come in.

If you would like to donate to the Little Princess Trust and help the girls raise even more towards the cost of a second wig, you can visit their JustGiving page using the link here.
