Burnham-on-Crouch and Dengie crafters to showcase talents at September fair
Crafters from Burnham-on-Crouch and the Dengie will have the opportunity to showcase their talent at a craft fair in September.
The fair will be held on Sunday, 5 September at the Constitutional Club at 26 High Street in Burnham-on-Crouch, and is looking to support local artisans from the community.
Burnham-on-Crouch trader Fiona Hawthorn, who is helping to organise the event, said: "I already have about 20 local crafters, but want at least another eight - primarily from Burnham or the Dengie to showcase and promote the talent around us."
Fiona paints and decorates bird boxes, bug hotels and plant pots, which she sells at Emporium on the Quay in Burnham-on-Crouch. She said: "It's amazing the talent that is within our community and lockdown has enabled people to discover new skills that they never knew they had."
There will be unique jewellery, textiles, resin creations, candles, gifts and many other types of handmade crafts at the fair, alongside an ice cream van and a cake stall.
The Constitutional Club will also be holding an open day for craft fair visitors, which will allow guests to visit and purchase alcoholic drinks in one of Burnham's iconic clubs.
Fiona added: "We are very lucky to be working with the Burnham Constitutional Club, who are kindly allowing us to use their facilities."
The craft fair will open at 12pm and close at 5pm. It will be held in Kings Hall and a large marquee to the rear of the Constitutional Club - entrance is free.
