Arrest follows car crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a crash in Burnham-on-crouch last week. 

Officers were called to Maldon Road, close to the junction of Green Lane at around 1:20am on Sunday, 14 January following reports of an incident when a car hit a tree, causing damage to a nearby parked car. 

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the drink drive limit, failure to report a road traffic collision, failure to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision and leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position. 

He has since been bailed while enquiries continue.

Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or have any further information to contact the, quoting reference number 60 of 14 January.
