An uninsured car has been seized in Burnham-on-Crouch, as police ramp up high visibility patrols in the town.
Officers also reported the motorist for driving offences.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "We have been completing high visibility patrols in specifically the areas of Burnham-on-Crouch and Southminster following recent incidents.
"We have been supporting victims of crime and are investigating the matters, providing safeguarding and reassurance.
"We have been engaging with the public, attending incidents and utilising our stop and search powers."
The police can hand out a fixed penalty fine of £300 and six penalty points to motorists who are caught driving without insurance, while also having the power to seize and, in some cases, destroy the vehicle.
If the case goes to court, drivers face an unlimited fine and disqualification from driving.
As well as seizing the uninsured car, officers have recovered weapons and drugs throughout their patrols.
They also uncovered another abandoned vehicle in Southminster.
