Firefighters worked for almost three hours to put out a blaze which destroyed a car over the weekend.

Crews from Tillingham Fire Station were called to Goldsands Road in Southminster at 10.05pm on Saturday (5 February) to reports of a car fire.

On arrival, crews found a car on fire close to a wood stack which was also alight.

The firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the fire and left the scene by 12.53am.

A spokesperson for Tillingham Fire Station said: "We worked quickly to bring the fire under control and stop it from spreading."
