Burnham Surgery says it is accepting face-to-face appointments
Burnham Surgery has said that it is accepting face-to-face appointments, amid concerns from patients that this was not possible.
The details emerged after staff from the surgery attended a Burnham-on-Crouch Town Council meeting last night (Tuesday, 21 September) to update councillors on the services they offer.
A GP from the surgery told councillors that it has not closed its doors since the pandemic began.
He said: "Currently, as we speak, patients can book their own appointments.
"If they want a face-to-face appointment, they can have a face-to-face appointment."
He urged residents to "be mindful" about pressures on the surgery when booking appointments.
The practice manager of the surgery added that those walking into the surgery must "abide by the rules" to keep patients and staff safe from Covid.
These involve wearing masks, using hand sanitiser and maintaining social distancing.
She said: "We have never closed our doors.
"Our staff, many of whom have lost loved ones to Covid, have worked hard and given up extra time for patients over the pandemic."
Burnham Surgery can be found on Foundry Lane in Burnham-on-Crouch.
