Burnham-on-Crouch Town Council has announced that it is creating a health and wellbeing initiative for residents, which aims to support the community particularly in response to the effects of lockdown.
The town council created a health and wellbeing working group earlier this year to develop the initiative, which involves researching the support currently available in Burnham, identifying gaps and planning how to target them.
The group is at the initial stage of looking at what support is already available in Burnham, and members are seeking residents' feedback.
Councillor Paula Stanbury, a member of the working group, said: "There are many determinants of good health - social conditions, housing, environmental conditions, employment and leisure opportunities are some examples.
"As a town council, we can help signpost our residents to the help and support available locally so they can live their best lives.
"The first work is to look at what assistance is already available in Burnham, such as community groups, support groups and charities.
"We will then look at the current resources and investigate gaps in the support already provided or a need to find services not currently available.
"We are making progress on collecting this information.
"However, as a community you will have your own thoughts which we would ask you to share with us.
"Perhaps areas of help that you do not see available, or groups in place but not visible to us currently."
Residents are encouraged to email Councillor Stanbury at [email protected] with any comments.
