The crew at Burnham-on-Crouch RNLI is recruiting volunteers to save lives at sea.

New volunteers can get involved both afloat and onshore while giving back to the community, as the team is looking for volunteers in all roles - operational, support and fundraising.

A spokesperson for Burnham-on-Crouch RNLI said: "The RNLI is dependent on its invaluable volunteers.

"It is one of the most exciting and fulfilling volunteer roles you can do.

"Volunteering with the RNLI will give you the opportunity to make a difference to our community and to save lives.

"Join an inclusive and diverse organisation."

First-class training will be given to new volunteers, alongside equipment, guidance and support.

The spokesperson added: "The volunteer crew is the backbone of the RNLI, physically saving lives at sea.

"Members make themselves available 24/7, whatever the weather, to rescue those in need of assistance.

"Joining the lifeboat crew is a major commitment so it's important that you discuss it with the people in your life who may be affected.

"Your family will have to live with your pager and they, too, will make a significant contribution to the RNLI."

Volunteers come from all walks of life and are not expected to have any particular skills or experience to join the crew.
