RNLI lifeboat volunteers from Burnham-on-Crouch carried out a rescue that went on into the early hours of this morning after a 16m vessel called for help.

The rescue began at 11.30pm last night (Sunday, 4 July) with a call for assistance from the boat after taking on water.

The Coastguard alerted the RNLI station at Burnham-on-Crouch and the Atlantic Class lifeboat 'Tony & Robert Britt' was launched.

The lifeboat quickly arrived on scene and escorted the boat back into Burnham Yacht Harbour, where it was met by the UK Coastguard at around 3am this morning.
